CAUSES AND EFFECTS ON CHILD TRAFFICKING

Children's trafficking has been an issue of major concern for the international community in recent years. Trafficking in persons has reached large scales lately where children transported from poverty-stricken countries to wealthier nations. The trafficking of children often involves exploitation of the parents' extreme poverty.

The latter may sell children to traffickers in order to pay off debts or gain income, or they may be deceived concerning the prospects of training and a better life for their children. This is increasingly prevalent in West Africa, where unfortunate children are trafficked to European nations and are force into an exploitative labor in shops and factories and others. With this in mind, Malaysia must determine an efficient method to deal with the issue of trafficking children.

Other than that, this issue also involves violence against children and women. Commonly, men have more power compared to women and children. Example, men are the leader of the family. Thus, the wives and children have to listen to what he has ordered them to do. In some situations, the husband would sell the children and abandoned them if they did not listen to him.

However, we cannot just ignore this situation as it affects the economy of the country. Let, when the number of children trafficking cases increase, the number of tourists would dramatically decreases as women and children would feel insecure when they are in our country. Secondly, other countries would not want to deal businesses with Malaysia because our reputation is bad.

Briefly, one should emphasis on this situation as it affects the major part of the country, which is economy. The moral behind it is everybody should unite to encourage more people to not to do those unlawful activities. Government and parents play big roles in handling such cases.
